Hi All,
Thanks for the reminder - I need to book a flu jab appointment. Hope it's not the battle it turned into last year.
I was diagnosed with RA last spring, so last winter was first time I booked a flu jab with GP surgery. When I got there the practice nurse told me I was not eligible for it as I wasn't over 65. I told her I have a chronic condition where infection can result in a flare and that I take methotrexate and as such am immunosuppressed. She told me she knew I was on methotrexate and that there was nothing wrong with my immune system (

) . She did give me the jab, but it felt quite a battle at the time!!!
I've checked with my occupational health department at work about having flu vaccine there, but as soon as you mention RA and methotrexate they recommend you should have the vaccine at your GP surgery.
Very confusing!!
Best wishes to all.
